Mikko Pitkänen Appointed Chair of the Board at AtoZ Oy

Mikko Pitkänen (54) has been appointed Chair of the Board at AtoZ Oy, effective May 8, 2025. He succeeds AtoZ Oy’s founder Jyrki Oksanen, who is stepping down from the role due to health reasons. Oksanen will continue as a member of the board.

"I am excited to join in developing AtoZ's operations as Chair of the Board and to contribute my expertise to support this growing and evolving company. I have followed AtoZ's journey closely since its founding. I thank the owners and the board of AtoZ for the trust they have shown in appointing me to this position," says Pitkänen.

Oksanen, who has promoted an open and non-hierarchical management model at AtoZ, remains committed to these values and shares openly:

"After being diagnosed in 2024 with a serious and incurable illness, I have re-evaluated my life priorities. I intend to spend more time with my family and loved ones, which means I will be significantly reducing my involvement in AtoZ's affairs. As part of this shift, I am stepping down as Chair of the Board and transitioning to a regular board member role. I will continue in this position for as long as I am able and as long as it is considered necessary.

This situation is personally difficult for me. I want to thank Mikko for agreeing to take on the role of Chair of the Board and to lead the strategic development of AtoZ. Mikko and I have known each other for over 25 years. This time has shown me that I can always trust him. He is fair, honest, and in every way highly suited to continue the work I have started at AtoZ. He is also a very dear personal friend of mine.
