I’m Lauri Pirttimäki, originally from Pirkkala. Hi there!
I’ve been an #AtoZfellow for about a year and a half, working as an application developer. During that time, I’ve gotten to do all sorts of things — from app and AI development to improving usability.
I joined the company through a friend. He had planted the idea a couple of years earlier, and when it came time to change jobs, I decided to ask about it — and it worked out great! I was ready to take a short break, but it was also nice to jump straight into new challenges.
Great colleagues and meaningful work — that’s the essence of it.
I’m interested in user experience and design, and last year I completed a Google course related to that. Now it’s nice to face real challenges to put those learnings into practice!
There are lots of good options… but the ability to fly or to heal would be amazing.
I’d like to study Japanese to a fluent, conversational level.
“Coalescence” by Chris Christodoulou, from the game Risk of Rain, was the first that came to mind.
It would be interesting to spend a day with Masahiro Sakurai. He’d have a lot of fascinating things to say about video games.
I like the #AtoZpeople and appreciate the low organizational hierarchy we have.
As a kid, I used to do a bit of breakdancing — and it was a lot of fun!
Game development, role-playing, and gaming with friends are my top picks. Petting my dog is also high on the list.
I’d probably be some kind of independent herding dog.
No specific moment comes to mind, but it’s always fun with colleagues — whether it’s Monday or Friday.
Have a great autumn — let’s keep the flag flying high!🍂
